THE FORBIDDEN PERFUME
The very essence of sensuality and passion, TABU evokes dreams of forbidden but exciting terrain opening up to the user — departures from the ordinary world. The best perfume for women who dare seek sensual and romantic adventures.

SHORT HISTORY
TABU was the very first creation of DANA, launched in Barcelona, Spain in 1932. It has been said that Javier Serra, the founder of DANA, was walking down a street in Nice, France and caught the cover of the new Sigmund Freud book, “Totem and Taboo.” Inspired by this, he decided to name his perfume after “Taboo.” When translated into Spanish, it became “Tabu.”

THE LONGEST KISS IN ADVERTISING HISTORY
Classic TABU ads featured a famous painting titled “The Kreutzer Sonata” by René François Xavier Prinet, inspired by the novella of the same title by Tolstoy and showing a violinist overcome with passion, breaking off his performance to embrace his female accompanist. The tagline read “TABU, the ‘Forbidden’ Fragrance.” TABU’s intoxicating floral, spicy, and musky notes became synonymous with the woman whom every man desired; and the lasting popularity of the ad campaign earned Kreutzer Sonata’s fame in depicting the “longest kiss in advertising history.” TABU is a must-have perfume in every woman’s romance and sensual fragrance collection.
